A single means of reaching a subject, such as a telephone number or email address, offered for a stated purpose over a period. Holding a contact detail does not prove identity or consent to be contacted. A person's usual telephone number and email address can also be recorded directly with phone_number and email_address.

Subject URI uri The URI of the thing this record or statement is about.
Contact channel string (contact-channel) The kind of channel, such as telephone, text message, email or web address.
Contact value string
The telephone number, email address, web address or other handle for the channel.
Contact purpose string
The purpose for which the contact is offered, such as billing, complaints or emergencies, stated as text.
Start date date The date on which this became effective.
End date date
The last day on which this is effective. A period includes both its start date and its end date, so a period that applies only on 30 June 2026 has start date 2026-06-30 and end date 2026-06-30.
