One population in a MetricCalculation, paired with the language and criteria that select the records belonging to it. The population_type follows FHIR R5 Measure: initial-population, denominator, denominator-exclusion, denominator-exception, numerator, numerator-exclusion, measure-population, measure-population-exclusion, measure-observation. Authors validate population_type against the MetricCalculation.scoring value at schema-load time.

Population type	`string` (population-type)	The role this population plays in the calculation: initial-population, denominator, denominator-exclusion, denominator-exception, numerator, numerator-exclusion, measure-population, measure-population-exclusion, or measure-observation. Follows FHIR R5 Measure.
Language	`string`	The IANA media type identifying the language of a criteria expression: application/sql, application/vtl, text/cql, text/fhirpath. PublicSchema pins the media type so consumers know which engine to invoke; it does not pick a winner.
Criteria	`string`	A criteria expression in the language identified by the paired language slot. May be inline source code or a reference of the form @ref:LibraryName.Symbol resolved against the calculation's libraries list.
