Code Label Standard code Definition
original_home Original home Household remains in its usual dwelling.
original_home_repaired Original home, partially repaired Household is back in its usual dwelling after undertaking partial repairs.
tent_or_emergency_shelter Tent or emergency shelter Household is living in an emergency tent, plastic-sheeting shelter, or similar emergency structure.
transitional_shelter Transitional shelter Household is living in a transitional shelter unit provided by a humanitarian agency or government, intended as a bridge to permanent reconstruction.
collective_center Collective centre Household is sheltering in a collective centre such as a school, public hall, or place of worship being used as temporary accommodation.
host_family Hosted by another family Household is staying with a host family (relatives, friends, or other hosts).
rented_accommodation Rented accommodation Household has rented a separate dwelling as temporary or continuing accommodation after the shock.
displacement_site Displacement site or camp Household is in a managed displacement site or camp.
unsheltered Unsheltered / open air Household is without shelter (sleeping outside, under tarpaulin strung between trees, or in vehicles).
camp_planned Planned or managed camp Household is living in an official displacement camp or settlement managed by a government, UN agency, or NGO with designated administration. Equivalent to IOM DTM site classification 'planned/managed camp'. Distinct from spontaneous_settlement.
spontaneous_settlement Spontaneous or informal settlement Household is living in an unplanned settlement that emerged organically, often on public or private land without official sanction or management. Equivalent to IOM DTM site classification 'informal/spontaneous settlement'.
