Plant Variety

A plant grouping within a single botanical taxon of the lowest known rank that can be defined by characteristics resulting from its genotype, is distinguished from any other grouping by at least one of those characteristics, and is considered a unit because it can be propagated unchanged. A variety is distinct from its listings, protection rights, denominations and physical seed.
