One cultivation of one or more crops on an identified piece of land of an agricultural holding, from sowing or planting to the end of that crop cycle. Growing a crop again on the same land later is a separate planting. A declaration about a planting is a separate administrative record.

Planting holding concept:agri/Farm
The agricultural holding that carries out this planting. It need not own the land.
Planting parcel concept:agri/AgriculturalParcel The agricultural parcel on which the planting takes place.
Planting components concept:agri/CropPlantingComponent The crops grown in this planting, one component for each crop of a mixture.
Planting date date
The date on which the crop was sown or planted. On a planting it is the date shared by all its components; on a component it is the date of that crop alone.
Planting season concept:CodedValue
The cropping season in which the planting took place, as defined by a national or local season scheme. A season need not match a calendar year.
