One crop, optionally of an identified variety, grown within a planting. Several components describe inter-planted, mixed or associated crops, and each can have its own planting date.

Crop kind concept:CodedValue
The kind of crop grown, as a code from an identified crop classification such as the FAO Indicative Crop Classification or the Central Product Classification.
Planted variety concept:PlantVariety The variety grown in this component, when identified.
Planting date date
The date on which the crop was sown or planted. On a planting it is the date shared by all its components; on a component it is the date of that crop alone.
Component planted area concept:QuantityValue
The area attributed to this component, with an area unit. For inter-planted, mixed or associated crops the area of the plot or field is apportioned among the components, so the component areas add up to the area of the plot or field.
