The role a person plays within a group membership. Some values describe position within a kinship-based roster, often relative to a reference person, while others describe function within another group type such as a farm. Intended applicability is documented per value and is not enforced by schema validation.

spouse Spouse A member recorded as the spouse or legally recognized partner within the group's kinship roster.
child Child A member recorded as a child within the group's kinship roster, whether biological, adopted, step, or foster.
dependent Dependent A member recorded as relying on the group or its principal members for financial support or daily living needs.
parent Parent A member recorded as a parent within the group's kinship roster.
sibling Sibling A member recorded as a sibling within the group's kinship roster.
grandparent Grandparent A member recorded as a grandparent within the group's kinship roster.
grandchild Grandchild A member recorded as a grandchild within the group's kinship roster.
other_relative Other relative A member recorded as a relative who does not fit the other kinship categories.
non_relative Non-relative A member recorded as having no kinship tie to the group's reference person or kinship roster.
owner Owner The member who owns the farm or holds the principal ownership rights to it.
operator Operator The member responsible for running the farm and making day-to-day production or management decisions.
worker Worker A member who performs regular labor on the farm, whether paid, unpaid, seasonal, or family-based.
